Getting Started . . .

The picture above was taken on our first trip to the Valley of Peace (VOP) at spring break. We were just beginning to consider the possibilities of living & working here.
We’ve been tenative to set up a blog b/c there’s an aspect of it that makes you vulnerable to a world of viewers that you can’t see. That doesn’t sound very nice. But, we do recognize blogging as a free and unintrusive way of communicating, so we’ll try to keep things simple and just report on the facts . . . what’s happening with us in Belize.
Come back periodically to learn more about what we’re doing and thinking re: the VOP. For our financial supporters, we want this site to help you know what your $ is doing. For our prayer supporters, we want this site to help you know how to pray for us. And for our encouragement team, we want this site to help you know what our needs are. We’ll try to include some pictures, too, b/c they’re always fun to look at and they’re efficient (worth 1,000 words, right?).
Finally, we want to use this site to say “THANK YOU!” We would not be doing this without any of you!

This is such an awesome step foward guys!
Tim, have you cut off your hair???
Ginger, is that an elephant on your shirt???
What a great picture! I haven't seen either of you in so long that it is just wonderful to see the picture of the two of you. It is definitely worth 1000 words.
I'm excited about this adventure that you are setting out on. I can't wait to see how the Lord is going to use you to be His hands, feet, eyes, ears, and voice to minister to the needs of the people in the Valley of Peace.
What an exciting time in your lives and what fun for us to get to share in it in this way.

yep, that's an elephant. it's the logo from the woodworking school in cali--an elephant with two crossed chisels. strange, i know.
and tim's hair is always in transition, but it's been short for some time . . . it has been a while, hasn't it!

I hope this part of Europe treats you well. Unfortunately, your southern wit will fall on deaf ears in a country plagued with the abscence of comedy. I hear the natives are semi-friendly as long as you don't bring up the whole "Euro-Disney" catastrophe.
Be safe and well in your journey, always taking the time to smell the, well, whatever it is that grows down there.
We'll always have a place for you in California when you tire of baby-snatching cockroaches and doing good in the world.
Love from the west coast,
Jeff
