Vaya con Dios

We arrived yesterday in Belize, and our travels were thankfully safe and uneventful. Before leaving Amarillo, we were prayed for and commissioned by two different churches and lots of people had parties for us . . . we definitely felt the support of everyone we know and love. Thank you all for sending us with your encouragement and confidence! We are now remembering what Tim Tam said the other night at First Pres—that God has come here ahead of us and has prepared the works for us to do (Ephesians 2:10). It’s good to know that we can’t mess things up too badly . . . we are not alone here.

For the next few days, we will be staying just outside the VOP in Banana Bank Lodge (see our links) while we get acquainted with the area and set up house. Ginger starts school next week, and Tim will begin looking for a few amenities such as a vehicle and a refrigerator. The pace of life is noticeably different already—we were prepared to start work on our house and our “projects” first thing this morning, but things move a bit more slowly around here. So, for now, we’re getting some rest, listening to Country Western (John here at the lodge is a big fan) and getting to know our new neighbors. Will let you know more when we do!
